Royal Hawaiian Center Holiday Kickoff

Royal Hawaiian Center marks the start of the holiday season with an official tree-lighting ceremony, live music, and pictures with “Santa Marty.” Admission to the kickoff is free.

41st Annual Turkey Trot

Don’t worry if you’re not a sprinter—this 10-mile run awards prizes to those who finish the closest to their own predicted time, so there are plenty of opportunities to take home a trophy. The run takes place at the beautiful Kapiolani Bandstand campus.

Waikiki Holiday Parade

Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, this moving event honors survivors and veterans with music by both local Hawaiian bands and mainland marching bands, military units, and appearances by local officials and dignitaries.

In addition to the Waikiki Holiday Parade, a number of events will be held throughout Hawaii in December as part of the Pearl Harbor 75th Commemoration. The series kicks off at 8:45am on December 1 with a free Papana Performance by the Air Force Band of the Pacific Jazz Combo at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center Lanai and continues for the next 10 days. On December 11, the programming concludes with the Honolulu Marathon (registration required).

Honolulu City Lights Opening Night Festivities

Honolulu’s beautiful city lights are an integral part of the Hawaii holiday season, and the annual lighting is a can’t-miss event. Food booths and keiki rides open at 4pm with the tree lighting ceremony at 6 and an Electric Light Parade down King Street. There will also be a live holiday concert and free pictures with Santa for the young ones.
